It's a painless process. I promise.

I've said it, I've typed it, I've posted it, and now I'm blogging it.

As most of you know, we here at Sid and Nancy sell used clothing. Think of us as a rock-and-roll version of Plato's closet. You would be surprised to know how many people on a daily basis are surprised to discover this little fact. I find myself explaining the selling process over and over. You can find this information on our website and facebook page, but I thought it would be fun to do it a little differently here. So here it is: our first visual, step-by-step guide on how to sell your clothes.

Step One: Go through your closet
Be honest. How many clothes do you own that you have outgrown, don't wear anymore, Grandma gave to you, so-and-so broke up with you or you went to jail the last time you wore, etc. etc. Closet space is far too valuable to let these items mock you from the back corner. Gather them up (clean please) and bring them here.

Step Two: Fill out the form

Simply fill it out. I don't know a better way to explain it.

Step Three: Look around for a few minutes

This is where we take over. Buyers go through your bags and pick out items that we can sell. These items are based on style, label, condition, season, and rack levels. Unfortunately, we don't buy sweaters in June, nor are we interested in sandals in December. Think about it.

I want to take this opportunity to list off a few things that we are not, and will not be interested in. EVER.
  • Used underwear (or any underwear for that matter, socks, lingerie, sex costumes)
  • DVDs, CDs: That's Papa Jazz, they are right up the street. You won't even have to move your car. We will even give you their phone number.
  • Your old Halloween costumes: One word. Hipwazee. They're awesome.
  • Bathing Suits: Would you buy a used bathing suit?
  • Kitchen Appliances: not our thing.
  • Baby clothes, toys, cribs: not our thing.
  • Wedding dresses: again, not our thing.
  • Enema Kits: this really happened.
Once we have picked out the items we are interested in, we price them. We try to price things around 1/3 of what they originally retailed for. A little more or a little less depending on condition. We add up the total for these items and offer you 30% in cash or 40% in store credit.

Step Four: You decide

    Take the cash. OR....
Pick up a magnet set of naked men in oven mits

And maybe a vintage Wrangler denim vest

And use the store credit to make these awesome items even MORE affordable.

You can also decide to donate your no-thank-you items. We give these donated items to Hand Middle School. They have a program there where displaced families throughout the district can come take the items that are needed. Simple as that.

Step Five: Enjoy your day

Ain't nothing like Springtime in the Southland!!!
